>Galatians 6:14-16 (The Message)
14-16For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate. Can’t you see the central issue in all this? It is not what you and I do—submit to circumcision, reject circumcision. It is what God is doing, and he is creating something totally new, a free life! All who walk by this standard are the true Israel of God—his chosen people. Peace and mercy on them!
This is what Simply Ministries is about. We want to set teenage girls free from the pressures that the world has put on them to be better, to be perfect. It is about simplifying the noise and bringing forward the simple truth found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In Him alone, we are a new creation. In Him alone, we are free to simply be who we have been created to be.
Simply Ministries is (soon to be) an organization to give hope to teenage girls nationwide through a website of encouragement, insight, and devotions. I am in the process of developing a format that will allow you to submit your thoughts, prayers, and questions and allow other Christian women/teenagers to offer their advice and experience in return. I am creating a link that will also provide daily devotions to offer you verity (truth) straight from the Word of God. My hope and prayer is that this will be a tool for both teenage girls and their parents to ultimately deepen their relationship with God.
Too often we try to complicate who God is. He is God and He is holy. He is the author and creator and in most ways, He is very complex (far beyond our understanding), but he doesn’t hide himself from us. When we ask, he has promised to show who he is to each and every one of us. We hear so much garbage and distraction in our world that we sometimes allow God to get mixed into the middle of all of it. But just as it says in Galatians, because we are set free by the blood that Jesus spilt on the cross, we don’t have to worry about pleasing the world or fitting into a tiny box of what we are supposed to do and become. The possibilities are endless, because our God is bigger than any expectation the world can throw at us.
As this ministry becomes a reality, I look forward to sharing it with you. I appreciate all the prayers and encouragement by my friends and family and I would appreciate each of your prayers as well. I ask for guidance as God directs my path (Proverbs 3:5,6) and takes me out of my comfort zone. This is His ministry and all I want is for it to give Him the honor and glory that He so rightfully deserves.
